In 1991, the former Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita formed a committee of NGO composed of persons of key standing in government, industry and academia together with the former Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu and then Chairman of Keidanren Gaishi Hiraiwa. In November 1995, it was officially decided to change the name of the organizing committees for the aforementioned Eminent Persons Meeting and Tokyo Conference to "Global Environmental Action" (GEA), on its expansionary reorganization. |
